Channing Tatum Might Remake ‘Ghost’
Cnn: com: “Ghost” might be coming back to life, thanks to Channing Tatum.
The “Magic Mike” star revealed in a new Vanity Fair interview that his production company, Free Association, has the rights to the iconic Patrick Swayze film, and he is mulling a remake.
The original 1990 movie starred Swayze and Demi Moore as a couple who confronts the spirit world and afterlife when one of them is murdered. Whoopi Goldberg and Tony Goldwyn also starred.
Tatum would potentially fill the shoes of Swayze in the remake, but he acknowledged to Vanity Fair that the new film would be “something different” to avoid some of the now problematic stereotypes in the original.
“I think it needs to change a little bit,” he said.
Tatum is quite busy at the moment. After taking a hiatus from acting work to focus on himself and dig into hobbies like hiking and sculpting, Tatum is returning with “Magic Mike’s Last Dance,” for which he says he “got into the best shape of my life.”
The third and final installment of the “Magic Mike” franchise debuts in theaters on February 10.
“Last Dance” aside, Tatum also stars in an upcoming film that is his girlfriend Zoe Kravitz’s directorial debut. Tatum’s production company is also helping produce the movie.
Kravitz and Tatum’s relationship became public in August 2021.
Tatum also admitted in his new interview that he did, as Internet sleuths had discovered, follow a number of Kravitz fan accounts on social media around the time their relationship went public.
“I have no chill,” he told the publication. “I was just seeing what she was up to! Also, I didn’t know anyone would know.”
Spoiler alert, Channing, the internet knows everything.
