Box Office: Barbie vs. Oppenheimer

Here comes the box office showdown between Barbie and Oppenheimer!

Greta Gerwig's Barbie, starring Margot Robbie, is on track for a $100 million opening weekend from 4,200 North American theatres. The movie also stars other A-listers like Ryan Gosling, Helen Mirren and John Cena. It comes with a hefty production cost of $ 145 million.

On the other hand,  Christopher Nolan’s “Oppenheimer,” is poised to make a splash with an estimated $ 50 million from 3,600 theatres.

The film is adapted from the Pulitzer Prize-winning book, “American Prometheus" about a theoretical physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer who developed the atomic bomb. 

Both films are expected to bring lustre to the summer box office.
