Accident-Free Day
The Ministry of Interior, through the Federal Traffic Council and General Command of Police, announced the launch of "Accident-Free Day" on August 26th, coinciding with the opening of the new school year. The national awareness campaign aims to ensure a traffic-accident-free first day of school.
Brigadier Engineer Hussein Ahmed Al Harithi, Chairman of the Federal Traffic Council, stated that the initiative aligns with the UAE's vision for road safety. It aims to promote a culture of responsible driving by educating drivers on road safety practices, complying with speed limits, maintaining safe distances, giving priority to pedestrians, yielding to emergency vehicles and recognizing the dangers of distracted driving.
Interested participants must sign a pledge available on the ministry's portal (https://portal.moi.gov.ae/eservices/direct?scode=716&c=2) and social media account profile ( MOIUAE ) and commit to refraining from any traffic-related violation on the designated day to benefit from a reduction of 4 black points.
